Resources for Your Deconstruction Journey
The deconstruction journey can be one of pain, isolation and struggle.
But it can also be the most liberating, validating and amazing journeys you go on.
When I began my deconstruction journey in 2020 (like many), I found myself feeling alone. Leaving a large non-denominational Christian church I had attended for over 20 years, served in ministries for over 10, attending a church where people knew me since I was a child… it was frightening to leave it all behind.
But I had to, for the sake of my sanity. Eventually I was tired of the confusion, lies, and inability to question or even receive answers to the questions I was able to ask, so I left. For good.
Leaving behind a sense of community and belonging can be tough because eventually you have to change your routine after all those years.
You mean… I get to sleep in on Sundays now?? What do I do with myself now that I am not in leadership? What do I think about now that I no longer have to think about the heavy weight of toxic religious practices?
So, trust me. I completely understand how difficult it can be. To help you along your journey, I thought I’d compile a list of some resources that have been such a great help to me and made me feel less alone.
