Facing Insecurities: The Cure.

This is something we all experience. No matter the status, class, looks, etc., everyone has some level of insecurity. How do we manage?

I have learned over time that the key is not to completely try to rid of my insecurities. Self-help readers, get ready to roll your eyes. I do my best to look them in the face. To run toward the very thing I really want to run away from.

Some of these things include facing my dreams once and for all. Embracing that “what if it all works out?” rather than the all-too-comfortable “what if it all goes wrong?” Challenging this has not been my favorite task in life, but my therapist told me I’ve been doing a great, noticeable job on facing the very things I have wanted to run away from.

So I’ll count that as a win in my book.

Over the years, I have gain only an increased amount of appreciation of brands like Nike for the simple, short, yet rarely practiced phrase:

Just Do It.

Could it really be that simple? Honestly, yes. The more I have thrown myself into something just to see, just to try, because maaybeee just maybe, it will work out in my favor. Then? BOOM. It does work out. Maybe not how I pictured, or even wanted. But I find myself rarely regretting the moments I threw…
